Dragon – Official Eyewear Sponsor of Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico
CARLSBAD, CA (February 5, 2013)- Dragon is excited to announce its partnership with Rip Curl as the official eyewear sponsor of the 2013 Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico, an ASP 4-star event set to run at Jobos Beach, Puerto Rico from February 9-13. Famous for its passionate fans and pumping world-class waves, the Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico will showcase surfing from some of the world’s best athletes, including Dragon team riders Taylor Knox, Evan Geiselman, Balaram Stack, Taylor Clark, Philip Goold, Ricky Whitlock, Andrew Jacobson and Seth Moniz.
“We’re deeply embedded in our local surf community, but the opportunity to branch out beyond California and show support for surfing and Puerto Rico is a no brainer,” says Dragon Global Brand Manager Rick Irons. “We’ve been waiting for the right time to get behind an ASP stop, and the Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico is the perfect juncture-especially with so many of our riders in the event, including locals Tommy Bursain and Carlos “Chispa” Torres.”
